Look Good, Feel Better

Part of the dearjohnnies mission statement talks about our belief that when you look better you feel better and can heal more quickly. This is the reason why it is important to bring your own hospital gown from our collection to your surgery, delivery, recovery or treatments. You will feel safe, secure, and clean wearing something that is your own. Not to mention our gowns add a bit of style and every nurse and doctor will pay you a compliment!

Another organization on the web has a similar mission. Look Good....Feel Better.

Look Good…Feel Better is a free, non-medical, brand-neutral, national public service program founded in 1989 and supported by corporate donors to help women offset appearance-related changes from cancer treatment.

There are now three versions:

Look Good…Feel Better
Group programs and other services for women in English in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. (International LGFB programs are also offered by our sister organizations.)

Luzca Bien…SiĆ©ntase Mejor
Bilingual group programs (English and Spanish) for Hispanic women in 19 locations: Albuquerque, Austin, Brownsville (TX), Chicago, Dallas, Denver, El Paso, Fresno/Visalia (CA), Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Orlando, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. Spanish language materials are available nationwide upon request.

Look Good…Feel Better for Teens
Group programs for teen girls and guys in 16 cities — Birmingham (AL), Boston, Columbus (OH), Denver, Gross Pointe Woods (MI), Los Angeles, Memphis (TN), Nashville, New Haven (CT), New York City, Palo Alto (CA), Philadelphia, Pittsburgh (PA), Rochester (MN), St. Louis, and Washington, D.C. — plus the 2bMe Web site with online demos and more.

Read more about their program and how you can become involved at their website. Also take time to check out the dramatic before/after section displaying their work.

A Recent Note From A Dear Customer

We love getting notes and photos from our customers. Here is one recently from a loyal dearjohnnies buyer. She is due in December with her sixth girl! This time she went for the Rory & matching Robe!

Dear Rachel,

Hello there, I am not too sure if you may remember me. We are stationed in Okinawa my husband is in the Air Force. I had placed an order from you almost two years ago, and well here I am requesting to place an order with you! This will be number (drum roll please) 6 for us...and rumor has it(via ultrasound tech)that it is our 6th girl!! It is a wonderful blessing, and yes I still get surprised day by day, sometimes I don't think it's settled in! Amazing! I don't know how my husband does it!

Oh I have attached pictures for you to enjoy from that wonderful day, along with an ultrasound capture of our expected addition. It was sort of a pretty antsy night-into-morning for us so pictures didn't come out all that great but I thought I'd share.

I was very glad to see that I kept my folder in my inbox with past orders of misc important items so I was able to find your address! Hope to hear from you soon!

Johanna

We're Featured in Conceive Magazine's Fall Issue

dearjohnnies is proud to be featured in the current issue of Conceive Magazine! Conceive editors reminded their readers that even during infertility treatments it is important to bring your own safe, clean, and new hospital gown. Therefore you do not have to wear the dingy, used, oversized ones the doctor's office may provide. Plus, when you have conceived you can wear it for your delivery!

They showed our Rory gown pictured below. It is a lovely mix of purple and blue with a blue grosgrain ribbon tie in our signature style. Available in s/m, l/xl, and plus sizes. The Rory also comes with a matching Robe. Our designer hospital gowns are 100% cotton and approved by medical staff. Gowns and Robes are also able to be monogrammed.

Customer Jen Says...

"I bought myself a gown when I was pregnant with my first son in June of 2006. I was the talk of the labor & delivery ward and everyone was asking where I got my stylish gown. I have bought a gown for every baby shower I have attend since – they are always such a hit! All the patterns are just too cute and the customer experience is fantastic. Thanks, Rachel! What a great idea!"

Welcome

Welcome to the dearjohnnies Get Better Blog!

Everyone knows when you look better, you feel better. And studies show when you feel better you heal more quickly. So why should patients have to wear a used hospital gown, that's unisex, one size fits all, and has that unflattering, institutional blue pattern on it? dearjohnnies gowns empower patients by giving them something that's soft, beautiful, fits well, is approved for wear by medical staff, and is their own! So whether you're an expecting mom with an upcoming special delivery, a surgical patient or someone experiencing outpatient treatment, we believe that you deserve something better.

We look forward to bringing you healthcare stories, dearjohnnies customer testimonials, promotions and more here on our blog.
